  • Capacity building of 2750 Farmers on NRM under Integrated Watershed Management Programme, GoI. Successfully implemented ‘Sustainable Livelihood Development Project’ for women in 60 villages of Jalna district supported by AFARM & USHA International. Insured 5000 farmers under Pradhan Mantri Crops Insurance from 20 villages of Jalna district. Facilitated 1500 small and marginal farmers for developing linkage with banks in 20 villages. Conducted workshop of 200 cotton growers at Jalna in Feb 2018 with MCX Investor Protection Fund, Mumbai. Mobilised works for labourers under MGNREGA worth Rs. 2 Crores in 20 villages.

  • Jansathi Drought Relief Network Through this network organization could mobilize 20 Gram Panchayats and has achieved a big role in their capacity building and further incubating them to take active role in bringing change in the life of marginal farmers by supporting to connect with the government schemes in 20 every village of Badnapur Taluka of Jalna districts. Prime Minister Peek Veema Yojana Under this schemes organization has achieved to work with 20 villages and reduce cost of production for marginal farmers, prospective loss in case of drought for marginal farmers, enhancing ground water through various measures which impacted high yield and better earning for farmers. Health Literacy Program Health is one of the prime prerequisite for all to live a better life. Considering the poverty in drought prone region of Marathawada, it becomes a major challenge for a marginal farmers and land less laborers to survive and in the case of lack of nutrition; minor illness turns into the major illness. Landless laborers, marginal farmers, women often neglects health issues and avoid any extra cost for medicines, thus in these kind of scenario they become succumb to face major illness and ultimately cannot afford to treat themselves at district level private hospitals. There are cases found by the organization where in order to avoid loss of daily wages laborers has avoided to medical treatment and ultimately it cost them for their life. CARD with its unique strategy and large volunteer network in rural area has achieved to conduct Health Literacy Program and connect with the health facilities through Mahatma Phule Jivandayi Yojana. Financial Literacy Program In Drought prone region of Marathawada, high cost of production, lack of irrigation facilities and water crisis impacts on all the aspects of the life. Especially for farmers to manage the big expenses apart from household expenses becomes a big challenge and this situation paved the way to get in to the trap of money lenders because of lack of access to credit facilities from banks. Women manages household expenses diligently as compared to the men hence money management skills becomes vital and essential to avoid any future trouble. Hence organization has initiated Financial Literacy Program where people are introduced with the future challenges and possible threat of getting financial crisis and further protecting farmers from the suicides. Under this program, organization has successfully achieved to form 30 SHG groups and successfully conducted Women’s Entrepreneurship Program. Out of this 25 SHG groups from five villages including Chanegaon, Dabhadi, Chikhli were given a loan of 56 lakhs. Most of the women initiated their own business out of this program in tailoring, Kirana shop, Goat Farming etc. Organization also played a very active role in 20 Gram Panchayat by connecting 2000 farmers with the government banking system for availing 10 crores of Farm Loan at a very low interest rate which helped them to leave away from money lenders. Livelihood Program Under livelihood generation program, organization has always believed that unless the employment opportunity is not given in the rural area for the people there is high migration occurring and ultimately people who are migrating for the seasonal employment opportunities in urban slums are compelled to live a pathetic life. In this situation children are also exposed to the vulnerable life under bridges in cities like Pune and Mumbai. Maharashtra government though has initiated MGNREGS people are migrating for the search of employment opportunities there are various reasons where people are failing to demand for employment opportunities. Organization studies this issue with 10 Gram Panchayat and provided 257 Job Cards to new family and further corrected 300 job cards which have impacted in gaining employment in 20 villages for 5000 people in their own villages. Waste Management in Rural Area Waste management has become a major challenge in urban area as well as in rural area especially when people have rapidly started using plastics. Organization believes if waste from the household managed systematically in villages, it will be vital for farmers to use that waste as a pesticides in their farm as earlier used. Organization actively managed to conduct training program on waste management in 20 villages and helped farmers to create the organic pesticides in just 18 days. This program was conducted in Badnapur block. Women Empowerment Project On Sustainable Livelihood For Most Marginalized Women Centre For Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) has been running a skill development and livelihood program in collaboration with Usha International CSR wing. In this program CARD has initiated tailoring training program for most marginalized women from 10 villages. Organization after successful training program has also supported women to set up their start up units at their villages. In this entire program Usha International and AFARM ,Pune has played a vital role in project implementation and monitoring. Looking the success and need of drought prone area CARD has decided to initiate another batch of 50 women from 50 villages to provide them training and livelihood support. Cotton Price & Hedging workshops- MCX Mumbai Supported this activity in Jalna district for cotton farmers workshops CARD is working in 80 villages of Jalna & 50 villages of Buldana Districts of Maharashtra state.     OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

    It can be seen from the work done by it in culminating the efforts on behalf of the CARD team for the purpose of development, crisis relief and rehabilitation. Various projects of agriculture and sustainable village development have been undertaken through the CARD since its inception.

    skill & placements

    In this, mainly 300 youths have been trained in skill development and jobs have been provided to them in various corporate companies in Metro Cities. Supported by Smile Foundation & KSWA-Future Group.

    SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS

    It is noteworthy to mention that, 60 widows, abandoned and poor needy women have been trained in sewing and sewing machines have been distributed to them free of charge. Supported by AFARM under USHA Silai School.

    Drought Relief NRM Work Employment

    CARD has provided employment to eight thousand labourers in 20 villages of Badnapur Tahsil were provided employment through MNREGA during the ongoing drought relief program as Village Level Organization (VLO) Supported by Jansathi Dushkal Nivaran Manch.

    IWMP Trainings – Project Training Org.(PTO)

    Under Integrated Watershed Development Management Program in Jalna, Raigad, Nashik and Kolhapur districts, 3500 farmers have been given various trainings under 35 Watershed Development Committees and various works of water and soil conservation have been undertaken. Supported by Govt.of Maharashtra’s Agriculture Dept.

    COVID 19 Relief work

    For the last 2 years, 4500 poor and needy families in Jalna, Buldhana, Osmanabad, Nanded, West Melghat affected by Covid-19 Pandemic, have been provided with food grains, grocery materials and food for thirteen days continuously for the migrant labourers returning from the city to the village on foot. The CARD has provided security face guard, gloves, N-95 mask, sanitizer, etc. to 200 Police Personnel. COVID 19 awareness and health screening campaign to counter the 3rd wave of Corona.

    Health Monitoring & Awareness CampAign Mobile Van

    Syngenta India Limited, Aurangabad and CARD Jalna jointly conducted activities for 3 months continuously.The human loss caused by the second wave of Covid 19 is irreparable. Experts and the government had announced that there will be a possible 3rd wave of Corona as a precautionary measure to prevent such a situation from reoccurring.105 villages of Buldana and Jalna districts to prevent the possible third wave of Corona from affecting the lives of the rural areas by creating public awareness about the symptoms of Corona and taking actual temperature and oxygen levels. In order to send them for immediate treatment if they are found, from August to December 2021 Arogya Rath will move from village to village and the third wave of Covid 19 should be treated using masks, washing hands clean, maintaining a distance of 6 feet, treating them as soon as the symptoms of cold, fever, cough etc. appear.Preliminary examination of the persons working in the field was done by taking the temperature with the help of actual temperature gun and taking the oxygen level through the oximeter.For this, he has worked hard to conduct covid test of 7560 people by appointing two health workers Manisha Sonawane and Jyoti Chandode through Syngenta and CARD.

    Health, safety & environment

    The CARD has undertaken various activities for health, safety, environment conservation,With this, organic farming lessons are being given to the farmers through the production of Shivansh organic fertilizer from agricultural waste, dung and water.

    LEGAL LITERACY CAMPS

    Taken 50 Free legal education and Legal Literacy Camps Year 2011-2012 & 2013-14  in Buldana District supported by National Legal Service Authority (NALSA).

    SCHOOL LIBRARY

    A well equipped library has been set up in Zilla Parishad school with CSR funds of Syngenta India Limited at Sawangi Tekale and Vadgaon Tejan in Buldhana District for all-over development of rural students to study all subjects under one umbrella.

    Jal Jeevan Mission (Rural) - Implementing Support Agency (ISA)

    CARD has been working to provide 55 liters of drinking and consumption water per person per day to families in 40 villages for Navapur Tahsil. As Implementing Support Agency from 15 July 2021

    Swachchh Bharat Mission (Rural) PHASE 2 - Technical Service Provider (TSP)

    Sewage solid waste is being managed in 34 villages of Varud Tahsil of Amravati District & 10 Villages of Navapur Block of Nandurbar district. From 28 Aug 2021.

    environmental sustainability

    Farmers are using mulching paper to produce more in the fields, after it is produced, it is being collected and given to a recycling company for proper disposal. To convince the importance of drip irrigation to get more production with less water, an awareness campaign is being carried out by conducting actual study on the farmers' fields. Near about 1200 farmers are being trained through soil testing to plant and manage fertilizer accordingly. The farmers are trying to refill their well by stopping the rain water from falling. The CARD has been guiding the farmers of Azu side by refilling the well of 20 farmers. So also, to conserve the environment.

    CHILD RIGHTS AND EDUCATION

    Center for Social Action(CSA), Mumbai and Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Jalna under Bal Sabha Manch Project from July 2020- June 2021. “Bal Sabha Manch” Under this project, work is underway to fulfill the following objectives. 

    1. To create public awareness about child rights and rights of children. 

    2. To provide opportunities for holistic personality development and leadership development of children. 

    3. To provide a platform for children's voice and advocacy at various levels at the government level regarding various questions, issues, problems and difficulties of children. CARD has taken many meetings with Children for strengthening

    Block Level Bal Manch Program 2021

    in collaboration with Center for Social Action, Mumbai and Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Jalna under Bal Sabha Manch Project. To make the children aware about the child and their rights and rights through the democratic process, to develop their overall personality development and leadership qualities, to provide a platform to reach the voice of the children's questions and issues to the government officials.To support children through animators or motivators along with school students on 10 February 2021 from 10 am to 11.45 Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya Jaffrabad District Jalna and from 12.30 pm to 2 pm Sahkar Maharshi Late BhaskarRao Shingane Secondary School,Savkhed Bhoi Dist. Deulgaon Raja Dist.Buldhana .
